Dios en todo — God in all things—is the last line of a prayer recited at morning assemblies. Borrowing a concept from KIPP, a charter school organization, ACE Academies liken their schools’ culture to a tree with root beliefs, a trunk that represents shared purpose and leaves that correspond with each school’s unique ways of doing things. To this metaphor, ACE Academies add the Sun, which is God. “Without the Sun, none of the rest of this happens,” explains associate director Andrea Cisneros. ‘None of the rest of this matters.’
