During a demonstration the Blue Angels fly as close as 18 inches from one another. "It requires so much trust, integrity and teamwork inside our diamond formation. It's a trust we've developed over time. We've done this so many times and we trust that each individual member of our formation is going to do what they've been trained to do," says John Hiltz, '02. Hiltz is the right wing or #2 jet in the formation.
