Thomas J. Podnar, conservator of sculpture and fountains for McKay Lodge Fine Arts Conservation Laboratory, Inc., applies potassium sulfite and heat to the Moses statue outside Hesburgh Library as part of work to preserve and refurbish the statue. The statue's original finish has faded and corroded over the years and this summer's treatment will bring back a deep gloss to the finish and better protect it from the elements.
